An arrest has been made in connection with the death of actor Matthew Perry, police officials said.

NBC News reported that a person was arrested in Southern California on Thursday after Los Angeles police said in June they were investigating how the “Friends” star obtained prescription drugs.

Perry, who had spoken openly about his addiction problems, was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home in October 2023. An autopsy found levels of ketamine in his blood comparable to those found under general anesthesia.

“Given the high levels of ketamine found in his post-mortem blood samples, the most fatal consequences would be both hyperstimulation of the cardiovascular system and respiratory depression,” the autopsy report states. Perry's death was ruled an accident because there was no evidence of foul play.
