Rob Schneider reacts after his daughter called him 'toxic'

Rob Schneider is asking his daughter Elle King for forgiveness after she spoke publicly about their strained relationship. In a new interview on Wednesday, the comedian addressed King's comments after the “Ex's and Oh's” singer said she did not want to “be associated” with the comedian.

“I wish I had been the father you need in my 20s. And obviously I wasn't,” he said on a podcast hosted by right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson. “I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings. I love you with all my heart and I love you completely.”

Schneider said he just wants her “to be happy and get over this.” He added with a sigh, “I wish you the best. I feel terrible. I just want you to know that I don't take anything you say personally.”

The apology comes just one day after King Bunnie told XO about it Stupid blonde Podcast that Schneider was “simply not nice” and that she had no intention of repairing her relationship with him.

“I don't agree with a lot of things he says,” King said at the time. “You talk nonsense and talk shit about drag and, you know, gay rights. And it's like, fuck off.” She also claimed the comedian sent her to “fat camp” because she was a “really fat kid,” and said he was “very toxic and very silly.”

In her interview, King also said that she didn't speak to her father until she was “much, much older” and that Schneider had forgotten “every single birthday.”

“You can want so much for someone to change. You can't control other people's actions; you can't control other people's feelings,” she said. “All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings. And sometimes I just fucking boil up and explode and explode.”
