Princess Charlotte's “royal” moment captured on camera

Princess Charlotte has been praised by her fans after footage showing the young princess at a high-profile event went viral on TikTok.

Charlotte, the only daughter of Prince William and Princess Kate, is third in line to the British throne and celebrated her ninth birthday on May 2. The princess has gained a growing fan base, with videos of her public appearances being widely shared on social media.

Over the past two years, since the death of her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, Charlotte has been seen at a number of high-profile events, including the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla in 2023.

In June, Charlotte and her siblings Prince George and Prince Louis made their first public appearance of 2024 at the Trooping the Colour celebrations in London. These celebrations mark the sovereign's official birthday and are attended by the extended royal family.

On August 11, TikTok user @princesscharlottedits uploaded footage of the Princess taking her place for the carriage procession through London for the occasion; the video has since been viewed more than 120,000 times.

Charlotte has made fewer public appearances this year as the Wales family privately supported Kate while she received treatment following a cancer diagnosis.

In the video, Charlotte is seen wearing a navy and white nautical-style dress with piping and a white ribbon in her hair. The look matched Kate's white dress and hat with black and white ribbons perfectly.

As she rode in the carriage with her mother and brothers, Charlotte was caught on camera calmly preparing for the journey to Buckingham Palace, politely waving to the large crowds along the way.

On the balcony of the palace – next to the King, Queen and working members of the royal family – Charlotte again waved to the crowd as she watched a flypast of military aircraft.

The TikTok post, captioned “Princess Charlotte of Wales,” received more than 15,000 likes and many comments praised the princess and her royal demeanor.

“She is so majestic,” wrote one user. “I'm glad Will and Kate are letting their kids grow up privately but still limiting their attendance at official events.”

“Oh to be a princess. I know there are bad things but I would love to be one,” added another, while another commenter said: “So iconic! Strong girl.”
