Floyd County Police Arrest Man During Afternoon Release at Armuchee Elementary School

Floyd County Police arrested a man at Armuchee Primary School during an afternoon release on Wednesday.

Floyd County Schools sent out a Parent Square message around 4 p.m. detailing the events at the school.

The schools' statement said that at 2:45 p.m., “a gentleman who was neither armed nor dangerous entered the lobby and attempted to pick up his child.” The statement continued, “Law enforcement was previously aware of arrest warrants for this gentleman and school security officers had notified staff of this individual's status. Security officers were asked to be notified when the gentleman arrived on campus.”

When the suspect arrived at the scene, the line of riders was delayed to keep students away from the altercation.
