Way too early all-in 2025 NFL free agency loot for the Denver Broncos

0

Ideally, the Denver Broncos can go all out in 2025 and beyond. Would this free agency haul put Denver over the top next year? Guys, the Broncos can be a good team in 2024 – nothing is stopping them. Now that they have a rookie QB on the team, the ideal path forward is for Denver to be competitive in 2024 and have every reason to go all out in 2025 and beyond.

And I know I keep stressing this horse, but the Broncos should target the Houston Texans in 2023. No, I don't think they'll win 10 games or the division, but the kind of improvement they made in 2023 gave them every reason to make a run at it in 2024 and beyond.

If the Broncos have that kind of success, they could be very active on the free agent market next offseason. Would that be a dream, an all-in free agent catch for the Denver Broncos?

Over the past three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets, tight end Tyler Conklin has averaged 60 catches, 589 yards, and two touchdowns in a 17-game season. He has been a solid, productive player for several years and will be a free agent in 2025. The Broncos TE team's performance may not meet their expectations again, which could put them on the TE free agent market next year.

I'm appalled Denver didn't do that this offseason because they had a solid TE in Gerald Everett who could have upgraded the room. Oh well, in 2025 the Broncos could sign Tyler Conklin and get a productive player to give Bo Nix another target in the passing game.

The Broncos should have signed Connor Williams, but oh well. He recently signed with the Seattle Seahawks, but it was only a one-year deal since Williams ended the 2023 NFL season with a torn ACL, so his value as a free agent dropped sharply.

Williams could play well enough in 2024 to make money next season, and Denver could be an interested team. The Broncos can get out of left guard Ben Powers' contract after this season, and if that gives them the opportunity to sign Williams, they should do so.

Williams is a better interior player than Powers, and in my opinion, it's easier to find a stable guard than a stable center. With Connor Williams hitting the free agent market again in 2025, that could be a sign that the Broncos need to do something.
