Salman Khan wants his films to be successful at the box office.

Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani, who has worked with Salman Khan in films like “Salaam-e-Ishq” and “Hero”, calls the superstar the “Messiah” of the film industry.

Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani, who has previously worked with Salman Khan on projects like Salaam-e-Ishq and Hero, describes the superstar as the “messiah” of the film industry and someone who always has your back. However, Nikkhil admits that he would be hesitant to do another film with Salman as the actor's name carries huge box office expectations. In an interview with Lallantop, Nikkhil explained that while he and Salman share a strong bond, the pressure of delivering a hit with such a big star is a major problem.

“Salman Khan's films have to gross more than Rs 300 crore. If his films gross less than that, he feels really bad and I don't want that burden. I want to sleep soundly at night and not have the burden of making this Rs 300-400 crore (box office) expensive film. I want to make the films I want to make. I love Salman, he is my messiah,” he said.

The filmmaker said he has this emergency contact for Salman on his phone because he knows he would drop everything to help. “There is this option, 'In case of emergency, please call', that Salman is on my phone for me. I know he will drop everything and come. Even if he is shooting the biggest action scene, if someone calls him, he will say, 'I'm leaving, this one is in trouble.' He is the messiah of the industry. But I don't want that stress of Rs 300-400 crore. If it happens, great, but I don't want that stress,” he said.

On the work front, the first schedule of Salman Khan's next film Sikandar has been completed in Mumbai. The shooting ended with a major action sequence featuring Salman Khan. In June, Salman Khan shared the first photo from the sets of the film, which quickly went viral. Fans were excited and showered praises on the actor and eagerly awaited the release.
