Necessary measures to combat flood damage in Al-Bayda discussed

BAYDA, August 10, 2024 (Saba) – The emergency committee in Bayda province discussed on Saturday, under the leadership of Deputy Governor for Administrative Units Abdullah al-Jamali, the necessary measures to combat flood damage and rockfalls.

Al-Jamali reviewed the reports of the directors of the relevant offices on the tasks completed in accordance with the plans and previous studies to prevent damage in the districts of the province, and stressed the need to develop a working mechanism to coordinate efforts to provide emergency treatment for the damage caused by rain floods.

It approved the procedures and measures required by the Central Plan, as well as the activation of the Operations Room and the preparation of a plan to help reduce flood damage to agricultural lands and archaeological sites at risk of collapse, maintain asphalt roads and drain rainwater.

Al-Jamali stressed that solutions must be developed and measures taken to combat the flood damage and activate civil defense to combat the disasters.

He stressed the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Supreme Political Council to mobilize efforts and capabilities and take the necessary measures to drain rainwater and floods.
