The UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) is a nationwide examination conducted in India to determine eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. The National Testing Agency (NTA) carries out the examination twice a year.

Update on UGC NET Exam Schedule and Admit Card

NTA has released the subject wise exam schedule for the June edition of UGC NET. The exam venue for UGC NET exam will be announced 10 days before the exam begins i.e. candidates can check their exam venue from August 11. The UGC NET exam admit card will be uploaded on the official website 3 days before the exam date.

The authority has opened the recruitment portal from April 20 to May 19, 2024. Candidates who are keen to download the admit card can do so 6 or 7 days before the exam.

NET June 2024 Exam Pattern and Scheme

  • The UGC NET is normally conducted in two parts: Part 1 and Part 2.
  • Paper 1 is the same for all candidates and aims to assess the candidate's teaching aptitude, thinking ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness.
  • It consists of multiple choice questions (MCQs)
  • The second examination paper is subject-specific and focuses on the subject chosen by the candidate.
  • The questions in Paper II test the candidate’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of the subject.
