Talita Alencar gives up decision in UFC Vegas 95 results

UFC Vegas 95 took place on August 10, 2024, and BJJ legend Talita Alencar worked hard to deliver results in the very first fight of the night. She opened the prelims against Stephanie Luciano and this was actually a rematch of a fight from a year ago. Alencar and Luciano first met at Dana White's Contender Series in 2023 and that fight ended in a draw after three rounds. Both women were signed to the UFC after that fight, and Alencar earned a decision victory over Rayanne Amada just a few months later at UFC on ESPN+ 91.

Luciano, on the other hand, had a few blown fights, so the rematch was essentially her debut. The two women again went all three rounds, but this time Luciano was able to out-fight Alencar throughout the stand-up. Alencar is one of the best wrestlers in the world, but she was unable to shape the fight to give her an advantage, while Luciano's huge reach advantage was a clear factor. Luciano won a unanimous decision in her debut and got some revenge, while Alencar moved to 1-1 in the UFC and will look to bounce back in her next fight.
