Mansour: The world cannot remain indifferent to the brutality and inhumanity shown by Israel in Gaza

NEW YORK, 11. 2024 (Saba) – Palestine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Riyad Mansour stressed that the world cannot remain indifferent to the brutality and inhumanity of the Zionist enemy forces in the Gaza Strip.

The Security Council cannot stand idly by while the Zionist entity suddenly decides to respect international law while continuing to declare its disregard for the United Nations Charter, its resolutions and all principles of international law.

Mansour stressed that the Security Council, the General Assembly and all peace-loving countries must take immediate action to break this cycle of terrorism, death and destruction that the Zionist entity is imposing on the Palestinians and is trying to impose on the entire region. This cycle poses a serious threat to international peace and security.

Mansour stressed that the Council must take immediate action to demand and enforce a ceasefire in order to save lives, end the massacres, starvation, displacement and destruction of an entire people, and save what remains of the credibility of the United Nations and the entire international system.

He called on the international community to put an end to this madness, brutality and inhumanity, pointing out that the Palestinian people are paying the most painful price for the shocking failure of the international community to compel the usurping Zionist entity to respect international law, including international humanitarian law and human rights law.

He stressed that this Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people, this illegal, immoral and criminal occupation, must be stopped.
