Brian Callahan of the Tennessee Titans evaluates offense and defense after the first week of preparation

The Tennessee Titans started their 2024 preseason with a win on Saturday night, scoring a 17-13 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

The Titans' first team offense got off to a strong start, scoring on both offensive drives, one of which was helped by a great kickoff return by wide receiver Kearis Jackson.

Tennessee got off to a slow start on defense. The 49ers marched right down the field on the opening drive and scored a touchdown. However, the unit improved as the game went on and finished the game strong.

After the game, head coach Brian Callahan gave his assessment of the first week of the preseason.

“I thought our guys played pretty well on offense, scoring on both of our possessions, which was fueled by our return game,” Callahan said, according to Jim Wyatt. “Defensively, we got off to a slow start on the first drive, but we recovered after that and picked it up a little bit.”

“I thought we played clean for the most part and played efficient football in attack. So that was a good start for us.”

One of the biggest bright spots of the evening was the performance of the offensive line, which did a good job in both pass defense and the running game.

The Titans will look to build on their solid preseason debut when they face the Seattle Seahawks in Nashville next week.
