Marjorie Taylor Greene says she was ‘drawn in’ to QAnon conspiracy theories (video)

Marjorie Taylor Greene's promotion of QAnon conspiracy theories was questioned on Fox News' “MediaBuzz” on Sunday when host Howard Kurtz asked her if she still supported those theories.

The controversial Georgia lawmaker spoke to Kurtz about Kevin McCarthy's victory in the House of Representatives election, which she took some of the credit for after 15 rounds of voting, but he also confronted her about her past association with QAnon and the spread of the crazy conspiracy theories they are best known for, such as that there is a global cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles led by Democrats.

“That was pure politics,” Kurtz said, referring to Greene's stripping of her committee assignments because of those views and the violent rhetoric that followed. “But to be fair, didn't you also say at the time that you were a supporter of the QAnon conspiracy theories, that you had reconsidered that and were no longer influenced by the group?”

Greene blamed the internet. “Well, like a lot of people today, I got easily carried away by some of the things I saw on the internet. But that was fixed early on. I never campaigned on that stuff. That wasn't something I believed in. That wasn't what I was seeking for Congress. So that's so far in the past.”

Since taking office in January 2021, videos have surfaced of Greene expressing racist, anti-Semitic and Islamophobic views for which she has been convicted. Yet the controversy surrounding her continues to simmer as she spreads many baseless conspiracy theories, including that the Clintons are responsible for murders, that the Democratic Party is responsible for a satanic child sex trafficking ring and that the California wildfires were caused by space lasers owned by a Jewish family.
