The Simpsons begins releasing exclusive episodes for Disney+

The Simpsons will have more content available only for Disney+ subscribers. It was announced that some new episodes will be exclusive to Disney+, while one Fox broadcast will be skipped and released as a streaming-only instead.

The news was announced during Disney's D23 Expo, which CBR also attended. Several members of the The Simpsons The team was in attendance, including Matt Groening, Nancy Cartwright, Matt Selman, Al Jean, Mike Price, Brian Kelley and David Silverman. The team announced that four never-before-seen episodes will be released exclusively on Disney+ and the first of the four will be a supersized Christmas episode.

The debut is scheduled to take place in time for Christmas this year. Tuesday, December 17The first Disney+ exclusive episode is called “O C'mon All Ye Faithful.” It's a double episode that will be released to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the series' premiere in December 1989. More Halloween content coming in 2024

While the full episodes released only on Disney+ will be new, there have been several The Simpsons short films made for the streaming platform. The next new one, a Halloween short film, will be released on Disney+ in October. The Simpsons and Halloween, it was confirmed that this year's “Treehouse of Horror” special will tell three different stories, including a stop-motion animation segment that parodies Poison with a pair of alien jeans that befriend Homer.
