Pollinator program launched at Lewes Community Garden on August 17

0

The Lewes Community Garden will host a free program at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, at 366 Park Road in Great Marsh Park near Lewes Unleashed Dog Park and the University of Delaware campus.

Guests from the Sussex County Master Gardeners will present a program to support pollinators. The public is welcome.

Pollinators contribute to a healthy ecosystem, many crops, and most flowering plants. Birds and other creatures depend on pollinator larvae for food. Creating pollinator-friendly habitats is very important and easy to do with native plants.

Participants should bring a chair and water and be prepared to walk a short distance on the grass down a small hill.
