0

Rutherford County, Tennessee – William “Bubba” Steele, engineer with the Rutherford County Fire and Emergency Services (RCFR), supports the fire service industry by creating educational videos for fellow firefighters.

Steele began his career in southern Rutherford County as a volunteer firefighter with the Christiana Volunteer Fire Department before joining RCFR. He was promoted to engineer in 2021 and also works as an investigator, paramedic and adjunct instructor for pump and air programs with the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy, The Water Thieves LLC and with Task Force Tips, an industry-leading manufacturer of firefighting equipment. He enjoys sharing his experiences with students and colleagues not only in Tennessee, but worldwide. Steele volunteered his expertise for the eight-part video series, which ranges from basic concepts to advanced techniques. RCFR and the Christiana Volunteer Fire Department provided firefighting equipment and free time.

“I am extremely proud of Engineer William Steele and his hard work and dedication in expanding his knowledge of pump operations and his desire to teach these new pump operation techniques to other firefighters throughout the state of Tennessee,” said RCFR Fire Chief Larry Farley.

Steele attributes his success to several people. “I am extremely humbled, grateful and fortunate to be mentored and supported by the greatest leaders in the fire service. I never imagined my career would get to where it is today and it absolutely would not have been possible without the support of my wonderful wife and amazing son, not to mention Chief Farley, the entire RCFR administration and my mentor and dear friend Andy Soccodato,” he said.

Steele strives to maintain his skills at the highest level with high intensity and aggressiveness for the community he serves.
